Chemical Constituents of Ethyl Acetate Fraction of Blumea riparia (Bl.) DC.

Abstract: The chemical constituents of ethyl ecetate fraction of Blumea riparia (Bl.) DC. were isolated and purified by repeated silica gel column chromatography and recrystallization methods, and 11 compounds were obtained. These structures were identified by physicochemical properties and spectral analyses as friedelin (1), friedelino (2), β-sitosterol (3), 5-hydroxy-7, 3′, 4′-trimethoxyflavone (4), quercetin (5), luteolin (6), dibutyl phthalate (7), protocatechuicaldehyde (8), porotcateehuie acid (9), caffenic acid (10), salieylic acid (11). Compounds 1,2,4 and 7 were obtained from this plant for the first time.
