Study of an SIQR Epidemic Model with Vaccination and Isolation under Media Coverage

Abstract: This paper studies an infectious disease model we obtain with media coverage, vaccination and isolation. By using the basic reproduction number R0 and Lyapunov function, it is shown that the disease free equilibrium is global asymptotically stable if R0 ≤1, which implies that the disease will disappear, and that the endemic equilibrium is global asymptotically stable if R0>1, which implies that the disease will persist. Finally, the conclusion is verified by numerical analysis.
