To explore the correlation of lower-limb muscle of patients with different characteristics of the cerebral palsy, and analyze of the differences and the similarity in the patients with the different characteristics, which provide references for clinical research and treatment of children with cerebral palsy and rehabilitation. Twenty-two(2-12 years,18 males and 4 females; age 5.8±2.0 years) children with CP who came to the physical therapy rehabilitation center volunteered to participate in the experiment in Shenzhen Disabled Rehabilitation Center, Guangdong, China. The study was approved by the institutional review board of Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. According to the experienced rehabilitation therapist’s clinical evaluations, among all the participants were divided into three groups, including 8 diagnosed to be cerebral palsy with spastic characteristic, and 9 diagnosed with hemiplegia, and 5 diagnosed with other features. There was no significant difference in the gender, age, mental, social and adaptive behavior, Gross motor function measure and balance of the three groups was no significant difference (P>0.05).The patients straight for 5 meters at their self-selected comfortable speed toward a target line on the floor, and were assessed on daily living function with the muscular tension of triceps and the subscale of Berg.Surface electromyography (EMG) from GM and TA were recorded and MP150 system(BioNomadix 2-Channel EMG system, BIOPAC Systems, Inc, Goleta, USA) was used to collect the data. SPSS Statistics, version 19.0 were used to analyze the statistics. Results and conclusion: There was great difference among the children with different characteristics. Spasticity and other features affected the relationship of lower-limb muscle of patients with cerebral palsy and improved the muscular tension of triceps, and the correlation of lower-limb muscle of children with hemiplegia was significant, which provided useful information to treat the children with different characteristics of cerebra palsy with different methods.
