Perturbation Induce Cascading Failure in Power Network

Abstract: The cascading failure in power networks is analysed based on local preferential redistribution rule of the broken node's load,where the weight of a node is correlated with its link degree k as kβ.It is found thatthere exists a threshold α* such that cascading failure is induced and enhanced when the tolerance parameter value is smaller than the threshold.In addition the larger βis the more robust the power network is.
