Abstract: In this paper a new species of the hell ant,e. g.,Linguamyrmex rhinocerus sp. nov.,from the Cretaceous amber in northern Burma is described and illustrated. The new species is similar to L. vladi, but the clypeal horn of L. rhinocerus is longer than that of L. vladi. Its mandible is L-shaped and clypeal horn is paddle-shaped. These unusual features are disappeared in the current ants. The type specimen is preserved in the Insect Collection in South China Agricultural University.

Key words: Burmese amber, Cretaceous, Formicidae, Haidomyrmecini, new species
