Synthesis and Fluorescence Properties of 6-Oxy-(Isopropionyl Ethylenediamine) Fluorescein

Abstract: A new fluorescein-based fluorescent derivatizating reagent,6-oxy-(isopropionyl ethylenediamine) fluorescein (IPEF),was synthesized and characterized by MS and 1H NMR.The fluorescence spectra and varietyof IPEF and its valeric acid-derivative were measured respectively.The fluorescence intensity and photostability of IPEF and its valericacid derivative were assessed in comparison with fluorescein.The results indicated that the intensities of the new one increase with the increase of pH and its intensity in methanol is a littleweaker than in water but much stronger than that in acetonitrile.
