A Distributed Compression-Transmission Algorithm for Multimedia Sensor Networks

Abstract: Multimedia sensor networks are faced with the challenge of transmitting a large amount of data with limited energy resources.A distributed image compression-transmission algorithm is proposed in this paper.Ordinary nodes and compress images collaborate with each other.The cluster head transmits information after eliminating correlation of images which are sent by different notes.Simulation results show that this method can reduce the amount of transmitted image dataand save network energy consumption,which may be more practical.
