Extraction and Anti-inflammatory Activities of Two Polyphenols from the Cake of Camellia oleifera Abel.

Abstract: For providing the theoretical foundation and experiment evidence to further study on the polyphenols from the cake of Camellia oleifera Abel. and their pharmacological activities, two polyphenols compounds (kaempferol-3-O-[2-O-β-D-galactopyranosyl-6-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl] -β-D-glucopyranosie (1) and kaempferol-3-O-[2-O-β-D-xylopyranosyl-6-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl]-β-D-glucopyranoside (2)) from the cake of C. oleifera Abel. were obtained through degrease, ethanol extraction and prep-MPLC. MTT method was used to evaluate the cytotoxicity on RAW264.7 cell, establish cell model of LPS-induced inflammation and detect the anti-inflammatory activities of flavone glycosides compound 1, 2 and the mixture 3. The results of anti-inflammatory activity assay showed that the flavone glycosides compound 1, 2 and the mixture 3 were less toxic to RAW264.7 and both of them could significantly suppress the production of NO, iNOS, TNF-α in cells, which indicated that both of them had good anti-inflammatory effects and good prospect in drug research and development.
