Optimization of Cutting Propagation Conditions for Alchornea trewioides by Orthogonal Design

Abstract: In order to explore the best method of cutting propagation of Alchornea trewioides, orthogonal design is adopted to study the effect of A. trewioides cutting survival factors and the best way to cutting from the factors such as cutting way, cutting diameter and ABT concentration. The results showed that the best conditions for cutting propagation are to control a cutting length of about 8 cm and using oblique insertion with 45°, a cutting diameter of 10-15 mm and an ABT concentration of 300 mg/L. It will lead to a rooting rate of 86.7%, an average root number of 8.46, an average root length of 25.38 mm, a rooting index of 186.13, and an average leaf number of 1.54/plant.
