Abstract: In order to study the thermoregulation and resting metabolic rate of Fejervarya multistriata, the oxygen consumption of F. multistriata was determined in laboratory using the open type respiration measurement instrument for determining the RMR. The results showed that the body temperature and RMR under different ambient temperature (10 ℃, 15 ℃, 20 ℃, 25 ℃, 30 ℃, 35 ℃) between the male and female F. multistriata were not significantly different (P>0.05). The body temperature of F. multistriata had significant positive correlation with the ambient temperature (10~35 ℃), the linear equation was Tb=0.881 7Ta-1.355 2 (r2=0.996 1,F1,6=1 009.98,P<0.01). The ηRMR of F. multistriata increased with the ambient temperature (10~35 ℃), the equation was ηRMR=3.176-0.314Ta+0.01Ta2(r2=0.976,F1,6=18.251,P=0.021). The ηRMR of F. multistriata had significant negative correlation with the weight in 20 ℃, 30 ℃, 35 ℃, the correlation coefficients were -0.449, -0.523 and -0.512 respectively. The results indicated that the body temperature and ηRMR of F. multistriata changed with the ambient temperature, showing the characteristics of body temperature and metabolism of the cold-blooded animals, and the ability of conducting the body temperature by physiological thermoregulation.
